Log into Microsoft 365 and open the Compliance Center (Microsoft Purview).

Select Data lifecycle management on the left hand side and then select the import tab on the right.

Within the Import Tab press the + New Import Job button and the new import wizard will open.

Enter a name for your import job - must be all lower case and no special characters.

Click next and then Select how you would like to import your data. Select Upload your data.

At this point you want to start Uploading your PST(s) to Azure storage ready to import from Azure Storage into the Mailbox (Microsoft side).

You will need to download Azcopy.exe tool to Upload the PST(s).

Once you have azcopy ready to go you will need to generate the network Upload SAS URL by clicking the button - this will then generate another Path which is where you are going to be uploading the PST file to. You can copy this to clipboard from the wizard.

Once you have downloaded Azcopy run it with the Syntax :-

Azcopy copy "C:\Upload\upload.pst" "https://7e0a76803c854aeb811eecc.blob.core.windows.net/ingestiondata?sv=2015-04-05&sr=c&si=IngestionSasForAzCopy202208030924488489&sig=v3HZJQFrgQOpymGwQx7Bmb9rGII9jFZ%2F%2FnE6IF0jCqg%3D&se=2022-09-10T10%3A19%3A32Z"

The first path is where the PST files are stored on your PC for upload. The second Path is the Azure Storage SAS URL you generated above.

Your PST file will now begin to Upload to Microsoft Azure Storage ready to be imported.

Once the PST has finished Uploading we need to prepare the mapping file in CSV format.

To prepare the mapping file you just need to replace the 2 underlined entries.

The first one is the name of the PST file you are importing - in this example is is called operationsArchive@safelaneglobal.com-3.pst

The second one is the name of the mailbox you are importing into - in this example it is operationsarchive@safelaneglobal.com

Leave all other parts of the mapping file exactly how they are.

So now you have prepared the mapping file and the PST has finished uploading to Microsoft we can proceed.

Tick - I have done uploading my files.

Tick - I have my mapping file

Click next.

Now we will Upload and validate the mapping file.

Select the mapping file you prepared and then click Validate. Once validated click next and the import Analysis process will start.

Once the Analysis process has completed. The import job will show Analysis completed in the status column on the Data lifecycle management -> Import Page.

You can now highlight/select the PST and finally you can now click Import to Office 365.

This will now begin importing the PST into the actual mailbox.
